Hutatma Rashtriya Arts & Science College, Ashti is established in July, 1990 by the Hutatma Smarak Samiti Ashti (Shahid). The parent Society was established in 1958 by the freedom fighters and their comrades to commemorate the martyrs of Ashti who scarified their lives in the Indian Freedom Movement of 1942.
One of the main objectives of the parent body is to awaken the spirit of enlightenment by rendering valuable service in the field of education and to propagate and consolidate the nationalistic spirit among the people and the youth, in particular. The mission commenced with foundation of high school in 1959, followed by two more high schools, one junior college, and a pre-primary English medium school. Later on, the parent body, with progressive outlook, on realising the need of higher education for the students in rural area , established Hutatma Rashtriya Arts and Science College,in 1990.
Hutatma Rashtriya Arts & Science college is a product of the efforts & the vision of its founders with object of serving the cause of education. It has, during the last 29 years, made steady advancement & has developed a fine education atmosphere. The college is situated at Ashti ( Tal. – Ashti , Dist. - Wardha ), a small town having a glorious part of the National Freedom Movement.
Our college is affiliated to R.T.M. Nagpur University, Nagpur and provides instructions to the students for three years B.A. and B.Sc. degree courses. We fill honored while mentioning that the foundation stone of the college building was laid down at gracious hands of their Prime Minister Mr.P.V. Narsimhrao.
The college was started by enrolling 125 students in July,1990. It is the noteworthy that our college has provided a rare opportunity by introducing the Bachelor of Science Degree Course for the student of rural areas living in the vicinity of 50 Kms. To keep in place with changing time and need, our college has introduced computer science an optional combination for B.Sc. students in the year 2000. In tune with the objectives of the institution, the curricular and extra-Curricular activities have always been the focus of keen attention in our college. To be well equipped in providing updated qualitative education, the teaching staff members are engaged in research work beside their regular participation in various seminars, workshops, refreshers and orientation courses.
It is the same positive attitude of the institute which has greatly helped its staff members and the students who ripe the benefits for their own and for the society to which they belong.
